Common questions

Yes, this is a paid internship ($22-$25/hr). It is not a volunteer or unpaid-credit placement.

This is a full-time, fixed-term internship over the Fall 2026 term, onsite in Kingston or Toronto depending on your placement. It runs as a project cohort with a set start and end date, not an open-ended role.

We run this cohort out of Kingston & Toronto. Kingston is our main office and hosts all 7 divisions, so most of the cohort is there. Toronto is a new studio for the Architecture and Design division, and it takes one intern this cohort. Both are onsite roles, so apply to the office you can actually work from.

Students and recent graduates who can build and ship. We assess what you can make, not your GPA or how well you test. You must be eligible to work in Canada for the full term, or flag it so we can discuss options.

No. Patry assigns your placement based on your application and where the need is greatest, so you apply once and we place you where you fit best. What you do choose is your office. Kingston runs every division, so applying there leaves the placement open; the Toronto studio runs Architecture and Design only, so applying there means that division.

One PDF holding your résumé and transcript, under 4 MB, plus a handful of short questions: your school, whether you can work in Canada for the term, your availability, and which office you're applying to. An unofficial transcript is fine, and a LinkedIn link is optional. It takes about five minutes.

We review applications on a rolling basis and will be in touch as we go, so it helps to apply early. If your situation is time-sensitive, email us.
